Take a look around you, there it is: your lovely shelter.
Some say “home sweet home” and as a matter of fact, your house is the only place where you can be free to exist right now.
You have probably just started appreciating your home, where you used to spend only a few hours a day, most of the time whilst in a rush.
During these past few days we have been forced to slow down, and the concepts of time and space now seem completely new.
The domestic landscape appears in a brand new format: living rooms becoming work offices, bedrooms becoming gyms, kitchens becoming childrens playgrounds, bathrooms becoming dancefloors, all according to one’s own schedule. The space surrounding you becomes adaptable and flexible to people’s needs. We finally realized how that balcony that we never used is now the only contact with the outside, as well as how that room in the basement that used to scare you as a child, is now probably the only place where you can have a bit of privacy.
We've finally realized how different each person’s quarantine can be regarding the place where they are spending it in. We've therefore understood what a great difference a large window can make, and we never thought we would ever find ourselves being grateful for the sunlight shining into our room.
However after few weeks of lockdown, the walls of our houses become to look more and more like a prison’s walls, a place from where you can’t escape.
The day you saw your step-counting app showing “a hundreds steps today” that you did between your bathroom and your kitchen, you probably realized you've completely lost the perception of space.
But what if you had known before what you were about to experience?
Despite new rules and limits we have to face in our everyday life, our imagination still has no boundaries.
Think about where you want to be.
What really matters? What could you never live without?
Design the ideal place to spend your quarantine in.
